In a move that will likely go down as the worst mistake since the creation of Walker Texas Ranger, I have decided to attend the Japanophile/otaku/wapanese/weeaboo event known as Sakuracon with a small group of friends. As non-otaku (the american type of otaku, the japanese type is unheard of in this country), we're all a bit concerned, but we're hoping attending this anime convention will be a good experience, as well as a warmup for PAX in August, which will most likely be filled with bastard "jock gamers" (gamers who'd rather play Madden, Need for Speed, Halo, and Counter-Strike over Hot Shots Golf, Gran Turismo, Half-Life, and Rise of Nations. also typically use an unsuperior xbox or 360 as opposed to a superior ps2 or a godly pc), which will reduce its fun-ness level. Our current Sakuracon (hereafter referred to as weeaboofest) plans are to travel to Portland for two nights before the convention, in order to visit our friend attending the Art Institute. There will most likely be large amounts of excessive drinking, which annoys me as I refuse to do it until I'm legal, and I don't believe in getting drunk; "lesbian bakers", who I will most likely run away from; and riding of light rail, which looks to be pretty fun, seeing as how I haven't been on a train of any type in almost two years. After our stay in Portland, we'll head for Seattle where we'll stay at the world famous Red Lion, where you can eat the soup right of the ashtrays if you want to- they're clean! The convention will be interesting, but we also plan to visit attractions such as Gameworks.

It looks like it's going to be a hell of a trip, even with weeaboo faggotry. The end of the month can't come soon enough.
